On 20th September 2025, Jeevandhara Social Service Trust organized a half-day session on “Counseling Skills” for the teachers of St Raymond’s English Medium School, Vamanjoor. The session was led by Sr Shalet Dsouza, who introduced counseling as a “Talking Therapy” that provides a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings.
Key topics included the definition and goals of counseling, communication skills, ethical considerations, non-verbal cues, and how schools can support students’ emotional needs. 17 teachers actively participated in role-plays, making the session interactive and practical.
The session concluded with a prayer, leaving participants more equipped to support the well-being of their students.
