An awareness programme on the POCSO Act was organized for the 1st and 2nd PUC students of Government Pu College, Nalyapadav, Shakthinagar. The session was conducted by the resource person Sr. Ileene Joy Dsouza, who addressed the students on child rights, personal safety, and the legal protections available under the POCSO Act for both boys and girls.
She highlighted the importance of understanding safe and unsafe situations, the responsibility to report abuse, and the support systems available for children. The session aimed to empower students to protect themselves and others, and to create a safer learning environment.
A total of 89 students and 7 staff members along with the Principle actively participated in that programme. The initiative was well received and proved highly informative and beneficial for the students.
