On 8 December 2025, Jeevandhara Social Service Trust, in collaboration with Bethany English Medium School, Bajpe, conducted an important Awareness Programme on Human Trafficking, led by Sr Agnes Frank BS. The session was attended by 150 students, who participated actively and attentively throughout the programme.
Sr Agnes Frank BS introduced human trafficking as a modern form of slavery, explaining how traffickers exploit individuals, especially the poor, the weak, and the marginalized for forced labour, sexual exploitation, and other illegal activities. She highlighted that traffickers often gain the trust of vulnerable children and families, making it easier for them to manipulate or coerce victims.
The session also shed light on the alarming reality of organ trafficking, where victims are kidnapped or forced into organ removal. Women and children, she emphasized, remain the most vulnerable groups and are frequently targeted for sex trafficking due to their social and economic vulnerability.
Students were encouraged to stay alert, recognize warning signs, and report suspicious activities. Sr. Agnes reminded them that awareness and timely action can save lives, urging: “Be vigilant—your actions can make a difference.”
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students demonstrated deep interest and concern about the issue. The school expressed gratitude to Sr Agnes Frank BS for her valuable guidance and commitment to protecting young people from exploitation.
