Creating a safe Environment for Children- POCSO 

An informative and interactive awareness session on the Protection of Children from Sexual offences (POCSO) Act was conducted at Bethany School, Bajpe. Benefitting around 150 high school students. The session aimed to educate students on their rights and the importance of safety and protection against sexual abuse.

Sr Ileene Dsouza, the social coordinator of Jeevandhara Trust, who led the session with great insight and clarity. She used practical and relatable examples to explain the key provisions of the POCSO Act, making it easier for the students to understand the seriousness of the subject.  Her approach encouraged active participation and created a safe space emphasized the importance of awareness in empowering students to protect themselves and support others.  The students responded positively and information easy to understand, relevant and helpful in understanding their rights and responsibilities. Overall, the awareness program was a great success and served its purpose of education young minds about the significance of child safety and legal protection under the POCSO Act.
