Jeevandhara Social Service Trust, Kulshekar, organized a Human Trafficking Awareness Programme for the members of the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and tailoring students. Around 40 participants took part in the programme.
The awareness session was conducted by Sr. Flavia Wilma, Secretary of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust. She explained the meaning and different forms of human trafficking and highlighted how vulnerable persons, especially women and children, can become victims of trafficking. She spoke about the various ways in which people are deceived, exploited, transported, or forced into unsafe situations.
Sr. Flavia also encouraged the participants to be alert and cautious while dealing with strangers, employment offers, travel opportunities, and online contacts. She emphasized the importance of sharing information, seeking help when necessary, and creating awareness within families and communities.
The programme helped the SHG members and tailoring students understand the dangers of human trafficking and the importance of prevention, awareness, and collective responsibility. The participants actively listened and gained useful knowledge on how to protect themselves and others from trafficking and exploitation.
The programme concluded with a sense of responsibility among the participants to remain vigilant and spread awareness about human trafficking in their families and communities.
