A meaningful step towards empowering rural youth was taken with the inauguration of the Basic Computer Course and Spoken English Course for 60 young people-30 students in each course—from Kaikamba and Gurpur locality. The programme is being conducted at Rosa Mystica PU College, Kinnikamla, in collaboration with Bethany Educational Society and Jeevandhara Social Service Trust.
The inauguration was graced by Sr Flavia Wilma, Secretary of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the young participants, she encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunity and to acquire skills that would help them become responsible, self-confident and empowered citizens of India. She reminded them that education and skills are treasures that cannot be taken away by anyone. With determination and perseverance, the knowledge they gain today can become a strong foundation for a successful tomorrow.
Sr Roselyta, Correspondent, encouraged the students to value the opportunity provided to them and to learn as much as they could during the course. She urged them to approach their learning with commitment, curiosity and a positive attitude.
Sr Anitha Lydia, Principal of Rosa Mystica PU College, was present on the occasion. Mr Avil Dsilva Lecturer at Rosa Mystica PU College, compered the programme. The students began the programme by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song, creating a prayerful and inspiring atmosphere.
The programme was more than just the inauguration of two courses. It was a beautiful sight to witness young minds from the rural community stepping forward with hope, determination and a desire to learn. In a rapidly changing world, computer literacy and communication skills can open new doors to education, employment and greater participation in society.
