In observance of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Jeevandhara Social Service Trust organized a Human Trafficking Awareness Programme at Madaleine Higher Primary School and Madaleine High School, Mulki on 20 July 2026. The programme witnessed the active participation of 198 students and 8 teachers.
The programme began with a warm welcome to the dignitaries. Mrs. Shridevi, Police from Mulki Police Station, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, she created awareness on the growing menace of cybercrime, explaining various online threats faced by children and adolescents. She encouraged students to use social media responsibly, safeguard their personal information, and immediately report any suspicious online activities to parents, teachers, or the police.
The resource person, Sr. Flavia Wilma, conducted an informative session on Human Trafficking. She explained the meaning, causes, and different forms of trafficking, the tactics used by traffickers, warning signs to watch for, and practical ways to protect oneself and others. She urged the students to stay alert, value their dignity, and become responsible citizens by spreading awareness among their families and friends.
The programme was attended by Sr. Wilma Mathew, Coordinator of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust, and Sr. Jessy D’Souza, Principal of Madaleine High School, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged students to remain vigilant and informed.
The interactive programme concluded with students actively participating in the discussion by asking questions and sharing their thoughts. The awareness programme successfully equipped the students with essential knowledge on preventing human trafficking and cybercrime, reinforcing the importance of safety, responsibility, and community vigilance.
