Awareness Programme on Human Trafficking and POCSO Act

Jeevandhara Social Service Trust organized a Human Trafficking and POCSO Act Awareness Programme for the students of St. Joseph’s English Medium School, Kulshekar,Mangalore with the aim of educating young minds about personal safety, child protection, and the prevention of human trafficking.

The programme began with a warm welcome to the resource person, Sr. Wilma, Coordinator of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust. Addressing nearly 150 students, she delivered an informative and thought-provoking session on the growing issue of human trafficking and the importance of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Through real-life incidents and practical examples, she explained how children can recognize unsafe situations, protect themselves from exploitation, and seek timely help. She also highlighted the significance of reporting abuse, respecting personal boundaries, and creating a safe environment for every child.

Mrs. Rekha, Animator of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust, along with a few students from St. Aloysius College, actively assisted in conducting the programme. Ms. Sunitha Dsouza  Principal of St. Joseph’s English Medium School, teachers, and around 150 students were present and appreciated the informative session.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Jeevandhara Social Service Trust for organizing such a meaningful and timely awareness initiative. The event successfully created awareness among students and empowered them with knowledge to stay safe, protect their rights, and contribute to building a society free from abuse and exploitation.
